Ty (Dee) Nguyen is a registered social worker, psychotherapist who is committed to providing her clients with a safe and supportive space to address their concerns.

Ty works with young and adult individuals with diverse backgrounds and complex histories in the areas of trauma, mental health, anger and stress management, grief, relationships, pain/illness management, understanding the self, and wholistic wellbeing.  She practices from a client-centered, trauma-informed and strengths-based perspective to encourage people’s self-determination and resilience.  She also works from an anti-oppressive lens utilizing therapeutic techniques, such as cognitive-behavioural, mindfulness-based, narrative, and solution-focused brief therapy.

Ty earned her BA at Brock University, her BSW at the University of Western Ontario, and her MSW at Wilfrid Laurier University.  Throughout her career and education, Ty gained experience working in the following areas: individual counselling, community healthcare, educational settings, justice system, member of provincial parliament office, an Indigenous community outreach organization, French community organizations, international social work, intensive mental health treatment for youth, and adventure-based settings.
