Laura has been a practicing social worker since 1990, and has been a faculty member, teaching social work, at King’s University College since 2004. After completing her PhD, she pursued training in narrative therapy at the Dulwich Centre in Australia. As a narrative therapist, her approach to counselling is holistic and strength-based, as she supports people in accessing and articulating their own personal knowledge, and then working towards their hopes and preferences for living. She has worked extensively with people who have experienced childhood trauma, interpersonal violence, and whose lived are affected by depression and anxiety. She feels honored to work with people wishing to address a range of different issues, including matters related to their faith and spirituality.
